The applications for the 2019 Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence are due:
Monday, February 10th, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
Before completing the online application, please review the Showcase Eligibility Criteria and the Scholarship Awards Criteria. Additionally, please consider attending the Writing an Abstract for a Conference (including SURE) workshop which will help you write an abstract and synthesize your research for the Showcase.
Applicants must meet with their mentor to review their title, objective, and abstract prior to starting their application. You will have the option to save and come back to the application before submitting it.
This year there are two separate applications for SURE. If you have completed your research as part of a designated Research Intensive (RI) Course, then you should apply for the Research-Intensive Course Presentation on March 30. All other researchers should apply to the SURE Independent Project Presentation application.

If this is your first time applying to a conference, we recommend that you attend one of our Writing an Abstract for a Conference (including SURE).

Showcase Abstract Criteria
Applications will be judged for acceptance into the Showcase according to the following criteria:
- Completed application form, including all co-presenter information (you will need all presenters’ UCF IDs).
- Project title
- A clear and straightforward research or creative focus
- Well-constructed abstract, summary, or creative statement of no more than 1500 characters (with spaces)
Independent Projects (including group projects and Directed Independent Research (4912))
Only for research conducted in a Research Intensive (RI) Designated Course.
*If you started a project in an RI course, but have continued to work with that faculty member after completing the course, you should apply to the Independent Projects sessions.
