In collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Lowell, our lab is currently designing and testing a smart and low-cost air quality monitor to measure outdoor concentrations of fine particulate matter and carbon dioxide. Once fully established, this Smart and Trustworthy AIR quality network (STAIR) will consists of over 100 nodes in the Orlando region.

Student Responsibilities
In this position, you will work with a team to: 1) deploy the monitor on light poles at the height of approximately 10 ft. The monitor is powered by solar panel, and no electrical work are needed; 2) test and calibrate the monitor on-site using multiple reference instruments; 3) monitor network health and perform monitor maintenance if needed. Network deployment will start on UCF main campus first. In this position, you will learn the latest technology in air quality monitoring, operations of several research-grade instruments, and data analysis related to air quality measurement.

Student Requirements
Students may occasionally need to carry heavy instruments. Experiences with basic data analysis such as linear regression, and Matlab programming, are desired but not required.
