Android Apps for smart cities - Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering


The objective of the project is to develop smartphone apps for smart city transportation systems. In this project, you will use your programming skills in android apps development to build transportation-related applications. The target application will be useful in promoting safety for road-users using skateboards, scooters and bikes. It will also be useful to improve accessibility for pedestrians with disabilities.  During the process, the student will get introduced to some publicly available tools based on automated video analysis and traffic data collection. They will also learn about intelligent transportation systems through reading and reviewing the state of the art research papers.
