COVID19 Social Media Research: Undergraduate Research Assistant for COVID19 Rumor/Misinformation Analysis on Twitter - Computer Science


Seeking 4 students who will be involved in interdisciplinary research in Artificial Intelligence at the Complex Adaptive Systems Laboratory (CASL). This research aims to study misinformation propagation in the Twitter platform in the domain of COVID19. We have collected over 4 months of COVID19 tweets and have developed a misinformation/rumor annotation mechanism to verify the trustworthiness of the information shared on social media. The students will be involved in different phases of this project: Annotation, Visualization, Analysis, etc.

Student Requirements

Having an interest in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning research is preferred. Students should be familiar with Microsoft Office and Zoom. Excellent and professional collaboration with other team members and mentors is required.
