Design and development of surgical intervention and healthcare innovation - Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering


From complex robots to simple mechanical tools, innovative engineering ideas have provided problem-solving solutions for challenging healthcare concerns. Interventional Robotics Lab (IRL) offers hands-on research opportunities to undergraduate students interested in identification of healthcare needs, solution design, outcome simulation, prototype fabrication and feasibility test. Current projects include MRI guided cancer biopsy and focal therapy, robotic orthopedic surgery, semi-robotic laparoscopic surgery, 5D telemedicine, wearable tactile display, soft robotics for healthcare, and more.
