rmy Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) - Chemistry


We are accepting applications for two (2) summer undergraduate research positions provided by the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP). The successful applicants will work on a project with the Army Research Office that aims to engineer an enzyme for use in bioremediation of soil contaminants. Students will receive technical training in recombinant protein expression and purification, and enzyme assays. Students will also be trained to read scientific literature, identify knowledge gaps, and design experiments to address these knowledge gaps, and provided ample experience in presenting scientific research.

Students must be able commit 30 to 40 hours per week to research training and lab work at UCF Main Campus between May 9 and Aug. 20.

Summer stipend of $4500 will be awarded to the successful applicants.
