I am seeking a student who is passionate about ecology, water quality, and wetlands to conduct a study quantifying the change in microplastic abundance in wastewater before and after flowing through a local treatment wetland (Orlando Wetlands Park). The student will be responsible for providing input for the experimental design, collecting samples in the field, and quantifying microplastics in the lab. Lab quantification is a time consuming process involving water filtration and microscope work. The student must be patient, persistent, and have a strong attention to detail.
