Academic Services helps students navigate the state of Florida’s and the UCF’s policies pertaining to academic record changes, curriculum file management, degree audits and university-wide undergraduate graduation requirements.

For more information about any of these services, you can visit us in Millican Hall in Room 161.

Late Drop

A late drop is considered if you are unable to complete the semester due to a documented extenuating circumstance, such as the death of an immediate family member, involuntary call to military service, or a documented administrative error by the university.

Late Withdrawal/Medical Withdrawal

A late withdrawal is considered if you cannot complete the semester because of a documented extenuating circumstance that occurs after the withdrawal deadline. A medical withdrawal is considered if you are unable to complete the semester due to a serious medical condition.

Appeals

Under university rules, you may appeal a decision on an Academic Record Change petition to the Admissions and Standards Committee, provided there is a legitimate reason for the appeal.

Request an Associate’s Degree

An AA degree is awarded only upon application. Applications are accepted three times per year: the first day of classes for Fall semester (August), Spring semester (January), and Summer semester (May).

Transfer Credit Evaluation

Courses are evaluated on the basis of equivalency with the content of the courses required by UCF and the Florida Board of Governors for the State University System.

Summer Waiver

Current undergraduate degree requirements mandate that students entering a State University System institution with fewer than 60 credit hours must enroll in a minimum of nine hours in a summer term at a state university. It may be waived if you experience unusual hardship that prevents you from completing the summer hours requirement.

AMH 2020 Waiver

In catalog year 2015, AMH 2020 moved from the GEP 4 or GEP 6 (Cultural/Historical Foundation) category to the GEP 10 (Social Foundation 2) category. If you met GEP 4 or GEP 6 requirement with AMH 2020, but then changed your catalog year to 2015 or later, you may request to use this course to meet your GEP requirement.
