Frequently Asked Questions

Why did UCF cancel Student Research Week 2020?

As part of its response to the Coronavirus, the university canceled Research Week 2020, the Graduate Research Forum, the Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence (SURE) and other events.

Will Research Week 2020 activities be rescheduled?

No. This FAQ includes ideas to share your presentation.

Can I cite my presentation in my resume or CV?

Accepted presenters can cite the Graduate Research Forum or SURE in their resume or CV. We recommend documenting posters as “accepted” and stating the reason for the cancelation—for example, “(accepted poster presentation, event canceled due to COVID-19)”. SURE presenters can visit the SURE 2020 Webcourse for additional information.

Will the Student Research Week 2020 Program be published?

We are publishing an online Student Research Week 2020 program. You’ll receive an update via webcourses letting you know when it’s available.

I’m an undergraduate researcher; is there another way to share my presentation?

The Office of Undergraduate recommends:

  • Contacting your faculty to discuss presentation opportunities
  • Posting presentations to the SURE 2020 page on the UCF Libraries’ STARS database. Instructions will be available through the SURE Webcourse.
  • Submitting your research to the Pegasus Review: UCF Undergraduate Research Journal
  • Visiting the Office of Undergraduate Research website to learn about more opportunities

Who can I contact with additional questions?

SURE presenters should contact the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Research Forum presenters should contact the College of Graduate Studies.
