AAP Student Positions
AAP is searching for students to support the mission and vision of the office and aid UCF students through the Graduate School Preparation process during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of initiatives designed to change campus culture around graduate school preparation and serve the UCF community.
Position Description: AAP is searching for 2-4 Outreach Assistants to help spread the message of AAP graduate school preparation programs, services, and initiatives through presentations, social media, and other innovative ways to UCF community and serve as an ambassador for AAP. Responsibilities include:
- Aid in planning and implementing workshops and other graduate school preparation programs
- Assist in marketing new advising initiatives through a variety of media including newsletter and university communications
- Communicate with students, faculty, and staff about their scheduled appointments, possible presentations, and recorded videos requested by AAP Staff
- Act as an ambassador for UCF and AAP by welcoming and thanking external guests who visit the campus to meet UCF students
- Attend and complete necessary trainings as a student employee in AAP

Position Description: AAP Marketing Assistant(s) will help spread the word of Graduate School Preparation to the UCF general population by creating social media and marketing campaigns. Responsibilities include:
- Generate content to be featured on social accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and newsletter with the purpose of increasing student and stakeholder engagement and awareness of AAP
- Interact with audience and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
- Actively participate in student outreach and events to positively promote the services offered by AAP
- Assist in creating and managing a social media calendar and department marketing strategy
- Work closely and maintain good communication with AAP Coordinator
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content. h
- Perform additional support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Enrolled full time (12 undergraduate credit hours) at the University of Central Florida
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva preferred. Experience with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML
Well-rounded understanding of all social networks, best practices, and how to effectively use each channel to support AAP events and services.
Proficiency in use of computers, experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and able to multitask, deadline-driven, take initiative, and able to work well with others. Passionate about social media and utilizing creativity
- Excellent communication (written/oral) and editing skills in the digital content creation
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Academic Advancement Programs, students who have met with Pre-Grad Coach, attended AAP workshops or events, or participated in an AAP structured program. Demonstrate leadership, takes initiative, and carries a positive attitude.
Hours: Typically hours can range from 10 hours – 15 hours per week and will begin for the fall 2022 semester. Students may continue through the summer 2023 semester. Students interested in starting summer 2023 may communicate with AAP Coordinator, Raquel Toro.

- Develop, design, and coordinate graphic for print and web for CS events and team projects
- Coordinate and manage multiple design and media projects
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and work closely with the AAP staff on projects, stay updated on upcoming events, and participate in promotional campaigns
- Perform additional support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Enrolled full time (12 undergraduate credit hours) at the University of Central Florida
- Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop and have enough knowledge to feel comfortable using other programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite
Create print design from conception to final completion in a fact-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills, deadline-driven, and able to work well with other. Able to utilize creativity and innovation in creations
- Knowledge of UCF marketing and branding guidelines

Position Description: AAP is searching for 6-8 Graduate School Preparation Peer Coaches to help aid Graduate School Preparation services with Grad Prep appointments for the UCF general population. The primary responsibilities of an AAP Peer Coach are serving as a mentor and resource in graduate school preparation and aiding in the development of a peer advising structure within AAP. Position Responsibilities include:
- Advise, mentor, and coach undergraduate students planning to pursue graduate school
- Aid in planning and implementing workshops and other graduate school preparation programs
- Assist in marketing new advising initiatives through a variety of media including newsletter and university communications
- Provide feedback to students based on their written admissions statements or other graduate school application materials
- Communicate with students, faculty, and staff about their scheduled appointments, possible presentations, and recorded videos requested by AAP Staff
- Act as an ambassador for UCF and AAP by welcoming and thanking external guests who visit the campus to meet UCF students
- Attend and complete necessary trainings as a student employee in AAP & SLAS Peer Knight Coach
