The UCF Research and Mentoring Program (RAMP) provides undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate or professional education with research experience while receiving support and guidance from a faculty mentor. In addition, the students complete educational milestone activities and participate in workshops designed to increase their awareness and knowledge of graduate and professional school preparation.
RAMP provides an enriching educational experience for undergraduate students, focusing on Pell Grant-eligible, first-generation, and transfer college students, to excel as undergraduate students, become strong graduate or professional school candidates, and succeed in their academic and career endeavors beyond UCF.
- Endorsement from a UCF Faculty mentor to work with you as your Faculty Mentor (The Faculty Mentor must complete the endorsement form by the application deadline)
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Full-time student at UCF during the Fall/Spring semester (12 credit hours minimum)
- U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
- Two (2) years left before graduation
- 60+ credit hours completed
- Commitment to attend graduate or professional school
- Non-eligible students will automatically join the RAMP Non-Scholarship Track
- Financial Aid Office clearing eligibility to receive the RAMP scholarship

RAMP provides a challenging and supportive environment conducive to learning. We offer students:
- Scholarship for conducting research and complying with the program’s required Milestone Activities
- Individualized support from RAMP staff and AAP Peer Mentors
- Experience conducting research
- Opportunities to present at the UCF Student Scholars Symposium
- Access to workshops on the graduate and professional school application process, undergraduate research opportunities, funding opportunities, and more
- RAMP graduation stole
- Involvement in a cohesive learning community of scholars, educators, and undergraduate researchers.
- Non-eligible students will automatically join the RAMP Non-Scholarship Track

Required Documentation:
Applicants must submit the following along with their online application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- RAMP Faculty Mentor Endorsement – Applicants are responsible for downloading and sending the RAMP Endorsement Form to the faculty member, who must complete all required fields and sign the form (electronic signatures will be accepted). The RAMP Endorsement Form will help us best assess your ability for undergraduate research and your motivation to attend graduate or professional school. Make sure to upload the signed RAMP Endorsement Form to your online application. NOTE: Applications WILL NOT be considered if the endorsement is not submitted with the required information and the faculty mentor’s signature.
- Personal Statement – Applicants are required to type their Personal Statements directly into the application. Make sure your statement describes your academic and career goals. Include your field(s) of interest, why you are interested in studying it, and why you think participating in the Research and Mentoring Program will help you reach these goals.
- Resume or CV – Make sure to submit an updated version of your Resume or CV.
