Welcome to SARC! We are the learning center on campus where students can access high-quality academic support programs and services, which you can read about below. All of our offerings help UCF students develop college-level study skills and achieve the highest standard of academic excellence.
SARC provides free small group peer tutoring to students enrolled in a variety of undergraduate courses offered each semester at UCF. Peer tutoring sessions take place online and at two on-campus locations: SARC at Trevor Colbourn Hall (TCH) 117 and SARC@CECS in the Engineering II Atrium. No appointment is necessary.
One-on-one peer tutoring is available for students enrolled in a variety of undergraduate courses. These sessions lasting either 30-minutes or 1-hour, are conducted exclusively online and require advance appointments, which can be scheduled through the Penji app or website. Please note that appointments are limited to courses we support and for which you are currently registered.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) offers a series of weekly study sessions for students enrolled in historically challenging courses. Led by SI Leaders, students who have previously excelled in the course, these sessions provide collaborative environments to deepen understanding of course material and develop effective study strategies. SI Leaders attend the classes they support, ensuring they are well-versed in current content and expectations. Participation in SI is voluntary and open to all students seeking to enhance their learning experience.
In the ACE program, peer consultants help students develop important academic and life skills such as organization, time management, study skills, online learning, and goal setting. ACE peer consultants can meet with students regularly throughout the semester, providing opportunities to check in on their progress, stay accountable for the goals and action plans devised in previous sessions, and become more engaged in campus life and organizations.
Each semester, the Student Academic Resource Center (SARC) offers all UCF students the opportunity to enhance their learning and study skills through a series of Academic Success Workshops. Topics include test preparation, time management, textbook reading, note-taking, and more. Workshops are live-streamed and recorded; recordings are available on the SARC YouTube channel.
