Joining a Pre-Law student organization at UCF is a great way to interact and network with your UCF peers who have similar goals, listen and learn from speakers who are practicing in law or work in the law field, and enhance your resume by gaining access to a wide variety of volunteerism and community service events, possible shadowing, possible leadership opportunities, and likely other extracurricular activities too.

At the start of each academic year, members of Trial Team get access to a complete criminal or civil case. This case comes with witness statements, affidavits, and evidence. We work in teams to develop ideas about how to best present this case to a jury (essentially, we do everything trial attorneys would do upon receiving a case). Some students play the role of attorneys and others play the role of witnesses. Throughout Fall and Spring semester, we travel across the country to compete in Mock Trial competitions against some of the best schools in the nation.
When you join Trial Team, you are coached by some of the most prominent attorneys in Orlando. These attorneys work to help you understand trial work, different areas of law, objections, presentation skills, etc.
Moot Court is a simulated, appellate- advocacy competition in which participants argue upon a constitutional issue before a mock United States Supreme Court. Students create arguments supporting both sides of the issue from a limited number of Supreme Court jurisprudence. Competitors are then paired in teams of two arguing in front of a bench of “justices,” usually composed of real-life advocates and judges.

The Mediation Team competes internationally in INADR tournaments, which take place around the world every fall. At each competition, teams of 3 undergraduate students come together to represent UCF.
Students prepare by taking PLA4243: Negotiation in Practice, which allows them to learn about effective mediation techniques and gives them an opportunity to practice with their teammates. Students who take the class are required to compete in INADR tournaments. UCF students who do not take the class, but would like to compete, may do so if they wish. They are just required to prepare for tournaments in the same way students in the class do.
