UCF offices, including the University Testing Center, will be closed from December 19, 2024, through January 1, 2025. Normal operations will resume on January 2, 2025. For detailed information about our policies, procedures, and services, please navigate this site using the main menu.
The Department of Economics at UCF utilizes the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Major Field Test in Economics as their exit exam. Undergraduate students at UCF who are majoring in Economics (B.S.) are required to take the test during their final semester at UCF.
The ETS Major Field Test in Economics is computerized and consists of approximately 90 multiple-choice questions. Test takers will have two (2) hours to complete the test.
The office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works in collaboration with the University Testing Center (UTC) to ensure that reasonable accommodations are made for test takers with documented disabilities. Test takers with disabilities seeking alternative testing arrangements (e.g. extended time, etc.) must request approval from SAS (407-823-2371 or sas@ucf.edu). Note: test takers should allow at least two (2) weeks for SAS and UTC to process the accommodation requests once the formal request has been submitted to SAS.
You can find more details and the request form at: https://sas.sdes.ucf.edu/students/ucf-placement-tests-and-university-testing-center-accommodations/
Once UTC receives notification from the SAS office of a test-taker’s testing accommodations, a UTC staff member will create a registration account for the student and email them instructions to register. Test takers should NOT REGISTER for a testing appointment until they receive these instructions from UTC.
The cost for the Economics Exit Exam is $30.00. All costs paid to the University Testing Center are non-refundable and non-transferable.
As of January 1, 2025, the cost for the Economics Exit Exam will increase to $40.00.
Test takers must review the University Testing Center’s policies prior to test day. Items such as outwear (hoodies, sweaters, jackets, pullovers, cardigans, any form of second layer clothing), watches, and electronic devices are not permitted into the test room. UTC does offer lockers at no additional cost.
All appointments must be booked a minimum of 24 hours prior to the desired date/time. To schedule an appointment, navigate to RegisterBlast.
After completing the registration process, the test registration confirmation will be emailed. If a confirmation email is not received, test-takers must contact UTC during normal business hours to check appointment status.
Rescheduling an Appointment
Test takers may reschedule their appointments at no cost up to 7 days prior to the scheduled test date/time by following the instructions below. To reschedule within 7 days, test-takers would need to email a cancellation notice to UTC and schedule a new appointment, including full repayment of the test cost. Missed appointments will require full repayment of the test cost, this includes cancelation or arrivals more than 15-minutes late.
How to Reschedule
Upon completion of the exam, you will be able to view your scores on‐screen. Additionally, ETS automatically sends a test completion email that will also include directions on how to view your scores online. Scores from the ETS Major Field Test in Economics will be provided to the Department of Economics. There is no pass or fail grade for the exit exam.
