COVID-19 Policies


The following policies apply to all in-person testing conducted at the University Testing Center during COVID-19: 

  • Physical Distancing: All phases of the testing process will be affected by physical distancing. Please follow all posted signs and adhere to 6-feet physical distancing at all times.
  • Health Questionnaire: All test takers must complete a brief health questionnaire prior to taking their test.
    • If you fit any of the following criteria you will not be permitted to test until you no longer fit the criteria: have come in close contact (within 6-feet) with someone who has a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis in the past 14 days, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14-days, are experiencing flu or cold-like symptoms; OR have returned from travel to a highly infected area in the past 14-days.
  • Face Coverings or Masks:
    • Test takers are required to wear a mask they provide for themselves. Test takers who arrive without an appropriate mask or face covering with be refused admission to test. The mask must be worn upon arrival and for the entire duration of the exam.
    • Face coverings must fit snugly to the face and cover the mouth and nose. This means neck gaiters; open-chin triangle bandanas; and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable.
    • Masks are required in all indoor and outdoor spaces on campus, with very limited exceptions.
    • Note: UTC will not provide masks for test-takers.
  • Lockers & Storage: Test-takers will not have access to the lockers. You may bring a clear plastic Ziploc bag (maximum size: 1 gallon/3.79 liters)All items must fit in the Ziploc bag and the bag must be sealed. Test center staff will thoroughly examine your Ziploc bag for prohibited items. Note: You may not bring any electronic items into the test center. The Ziploc bag may contain ONLY the following items:
    • Valid ID
    • Wallet
    • Cell phone device (to check-in; must be turned off prior to entering the test room)
    • Keys or car-key fob (provided it does not feature a data port)
    • Feminine hygiene or medical products (including diabetic testing supplies)
  • Visitors & Guests: Test-takers must arrive unaccompanied to the test center. Visitors and guests will not be permitted to wait in the test center vicinity/lobby.
