Hebrew Proficiency Exam

Note: The Hebrew Proficiency Exam is only administered to currently enrolled UCF students.

The Hebrew Proficiency Exam evaluates skills in the areas of reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammatical accuracy. There is no credit hours awarded for this exam. Students can earn up to 2 semesters equivalency at a college level.

The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills – skills that have been developed over a long period of time and are not related to a specific field of study but are important for all. The overall testing time for the computer-delivered GRE General Test is about three hours and 45 minutes. There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

UTC will administer the GRE General Test on the following dates in Spring 2022 (test dates are subject to change and seat availability):

Pearson VUE Certification Exams

UTC is a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center. Pearson VUE offers high-stakes computer-based certification and licensure exams for an array of industries including financial, government, health care, information technology, and many more.

WebCAPE – Coming Soon!

The purpose of the WebCAPE (Computer Adaptive Placement Exam) is to determine foreign language proficiency and corresponding course level at UCF using a combination of grammar, reading, and vocabulary questions. In order to achieve the most appropriate placement consistent with language level, students are expected to complete the placement exam to the best of their ability, without the use of textbooks, dictionaries, or any other type of assistance.

Certiport

Note: At this time, UTC is only administering the Certiport exams to UCF students enrolled into GEB 4522 or GEB 6895.

TOEFL iBT

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.

In 2005, ETS introduced the TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT). The TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success in a college or university setting.

Test of Essential Academic Skills

The TEAS is a scholastic aptitude assessment that can be used as one component of the selection process for admitting students into the College of Nursing.

Prov

Prov is an online occupational licensing assessment service dedicated to serving the needs of occupational assessment and licensing markets. Prov’s primary clients include the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board, Alabama State Board of Auctioneers, Arkansas Department of Labor, Indiana Plumbing Commission, National Center for Construction Education and Research, West Virginia Contractor’s Licensing Board and West Virginia Plumber Certification. Math Placement Test

The MPT is an assessment of the math skills that students have acquired and is designed to determine proficiency level and therefore placement for math courses. The MPT will help students, with the assistance of their academic advisors, select math courses in which they are most prepared and will likely be successful.

Kryterion is a full-service test development and delivery company that provides world-class online test delivery technology through a global network of High-stakes Online Secured Testing (HOST) locations. The Kryterion network delivers many and varied certification exams for industry specialists. Kryterion exams are administered at UCF.
