When asked what I want to do when I grow up, my response, for as long as I can remember, has always been “I want to help people.” Being a part of the inaugural team of academic advocates at UCF provides me the opportunity to help remove barriers that are preventing students from progressing academically, and I take great pride in my responsibility. I aim to ensure that every student I meet feels like our interaction was meaningful and that they leave in a better position than they were in prior to our conversation. Being a first-generation college student, I know from first-hand experience how difficult navigating a college campus can be, and it’s my goal to ensure the students I interact with don’t have the same experiences I have had.
In Fall 2015 I completed my bachelor’s degree from Kean University in Public Administration. In Fall 2023 I earned my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from UCF. Prior to joining this team, I have experience as a Registrar, Senior Financial Aid Specialist and Financial Aid Coordinator. In my most recent role, prior to becoming an Academic Advocate, I was an Academic Advisor. My experience in higher education has prepared me for this role, as I understand many sides of student services, which allows me to be able to provide holistic support to our students as well as access to the resources available at this institution.
