Academic Advocates provide assistance with navigating UCF and achieving academic success.
What we do
Our Academic Advocates work proactively with undergraduate students to remove barriers that adversely affect retention (your ability to return each year), persistence (your ability to not skip terms), and timely completion of degree (your ability to graduate!). Undergraduate students may receive direct outreach from an Academic Advocate as result of active monitoring of student academic behavior information or referrals by Faculty, Staff, or other members of the UCF community.
How we assist
When meeting with students, our Academic Advocates will operate within a coordinated care/case management model to ensure students are connected to the appropriate resources and services. Academic Advocates can also guide students in understanding institutional policies, processes, and petitions. To meet the needs of students, our team will collaborate and coordinate with academic departments, colleges, and university personnel.
