The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), Academic Affairs Office, welcomes Meena Turner as the new Director of Academic Advising. Turner obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and her master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida. Turner possesses over 20 years of advising experience in higher education, which began in 2000 with the UCF Office of First Year Advising and Exploration, where she advised First Time in College (FTIC) students.

In 2009, Turner transitioned into an advising role within the College of Engineering and Computer Science, where she most recently served as Assistant Director. During her tenure in CECS, Turner created an advisor onboarding and training program. Through her work with this program, she realized her passion for leadership. She enjoys mentoring and supporting new team members and looks forward to working with the dynamic team of CECS advisors to develop new ways to impact student success. Looking forward, one key area of focus will be developing and supporting initiatives to increase the timely graduation rates within the college.
