Academic advising is one of the most important services provided at UCF and can impact your successful progression to graduation. Review the recommendations below so you can make the most out of the time with your advisor.

Know your advisor. Your assigned advisor will be listed in myUCF under Student Self Service. You may also have received an email from your assigned advisor via your Knight’s email account.

Research degree requirements. Use the UCF Undergraduate Catalog and myKnight Audit to familiarize yourself with the requirements for the program you have declared or are considering. Visit the college or department websites for additional information. If something is confusing, your advisor can help clarify it for you during your appointment.

Use your Pegasus Path planner. The Pegasus Path planner is an interactive degree planning tool that will help you plan your entire time at UCF. Make the most of your academic advising appointment by creating your plan beforehand and reviewing your plan with your advisor.

Write down your questions. Writing down questions helps you remember why you made the appointment in the first place. This also helps you use your appointment time more efficiently.

Organize your records. Keep a folder with important advising paperwork and bring this with you to appointments.

Be courteous. If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact your assigned advisor or advising office as soon as possible.

Be on time! Arrive at the office on time, or even a little early. This will ensure that you will be able to spend plenty of quality time with your advisor. For online or phone appointments log or call in at your scheduled appointment time.
