On October 26, 2020, Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students, welcomed a total of 185 transfer students to join the UCF Zeta chapter, proudly the largest chapter in the country. Students had to achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA to be eligible for membership. Tau Sigma is supported by the Knights Major Exploration and Transition Center (KMETC).

This year’s induction speaker was UCF President Dr. Alexander Cartwright. President Cartwright shared his experiences as a transfer student, who first attended a community college before transferring to a state university.  The President then welcomed the newly inducted transfer students, encouraging them to be persistent, help others, and take advantage of all that UCF has to offer.  At the conclusion of his speech, President Cartwright was awarded an honorary membership into the Zeta chapter.  The induction ceremony can be viewed below, which includes Dr. Cartwright’s speech (26:40):

In addition to hosting a fall induction, Tau Sigma’s exceptional Executive Board provided its members with over 10 virtual events in the fall, with additional events scheduled for the Spring term to continue connecting its members to each other and the University.
