As the mobile app is called “Navigate Student”, will the myKnight STAR branding continue to be used?
Yes, myKnight STAR will remain UCF’s internal branding for the Navigate360 suite of products. However, we will refer to the app as the “myKnight STAR app, powered by Navigate Student.”
Can staff log into the student site?
No, staff will not be able to log into the myKnight STAR app. Only students will be able to access the app.
Do students have to download the myKnight STAR app to utilize the new functionality?
Students are encouraged to download and use the myKnight STAR app, but there is a desktop browser version they can access with all the same features.
How do students use Study Buddies?
Students opt in for one or multiple courses through the Study Buddies feature in the myKnight STAR app. Students view other students for their class(es) who have opted in and contact them through their UCF email. Students can opt-out and leave a group at any time. This short, 90-second video demonstrates the Study Buddies student experience.
What functionality can students currently access in the myKnight STAR app?
Students have access to view their class schedule and holds, schedule appointments, use “Hand Raise” to request support, and explore UCF majors and related careers. The app also links out to UCF Mobile, Webcourses@UCF, and myUCF. Students can customize their notifications settings for relevant features.
What is the Study Buddies feature?
Study Buddies allows students to form groups for a collaborative study experience with students in their classes. Study Buddies is NOT a group messaging app or a replacement for formal tutoring or supplemental instruction.
