Applied Operations Research Lab is recruiting UCF undergraduate students to join us on our research efforts in several projects, such as influence maximization in social media, mathematical foundations for behavioral studies in policy making or pricing, decoding artificial neural network via optimization, environmental and closed-loop supply chain for energy systems with large scale battery clusters (both public and private, even individual, e.g., electrical vehicles), network optimization applications and theory. One of the projects is to efficiently leverage social media to help local farmers to do effective marketing by using advanced AI tools and optimization techniques. Students with their unique novel ideas on operations research (either theory or applications) are also welcome to talk with us to define possible new project(s). We hope we will be able to fund dedicated/determined undergraduate students to do more in-depth research leading to academic publications or patent applications or entrepreneurial adventures upon finishing a semesters’ collaboration.
