Students will work on laboratory experiments to understand the behavior of number of questions in planetary science, related to planetary surface materials and plasma/charging interactions.
This may include:
– spacecraft charging
– planetary material charging
– planetary material (granular) dynamics
Students participate in all parts of the life cycle of experiments that are operated in the lab, or built to fly on various spaceflight platforms, such as parabolic airplane flights, suborbital flights, the ISS, and CubeSats.

Student Requirements
We look for students with different backgrounds and interests (science, engineering, computer science, etc.) to work on designing, testing, data analysis, and modeling. Students are expected to work both independently and with teams for these projects. Weekly meetings are used to discuss progress and results. Some projects have hard deadlines that require dedicated work, reliability, and timeliness.
