This project focuses on design, prototyping, and control of various rehabilitation and assistive robots that target the recovery and enhancement of upper-limb motor function. Specifically, we will develop rehabilitation robots with 1 or 2 degrees of freedom that allows users to perform exercise with their fingers, hands, and wrists. Additionally, we will develop exoskeleton systems for the wrist and hand.

Start Date: 1/8/2024 - End Date: 4/28/2024
Students Needed
Type of Project
Individual
Student Responsibilities
The students will design and manufacture the mechanical structure prototypes, integrate motors and sensors, and develop control programs for these systems described above. In the later stage of the project, students may be involved in human subject data collection using the developed prototypes and other measurement systems (e.g., motion capture).
Time Commitment
10 hrs/week hour(s)
Student Requirements
Students are expected to have experience with at least one of the following (1) Solidworks, 3D printing or machineshop; (2) Electronics (such as interfacing with DC motors and simple sensors); (3) Arduino programming or labview programming or other programming languages.
