The Center for Behavioral Health Research and Training (CBHRT) in the School of Social Work seeks assistance on data entry, database development, and additional lab tasks for various suicide prevention grants. CBHRT grants require the student to work in the Barbara Ying Center and the ability to work independently. The student will be paired with a Project Manager who will encourage growth in a research skill set and assist in resume development (as needed). This role will also provide the student with Independent Research Credit.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working on B.A. or B.S. (preferably in Social Work or a related field)
- Ability to work independently and with multiple teams
- Data entry, SPSS experience, preferred (but not required as training can be provided)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Student Responsibilities
Primary Role: The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely under the supervision of the Project Manager and Principal Investigator of the various grant(s) by assisting with data entry, analysis, database development and additional lab tasks. Specifically, the Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Create databases for data entry into SPSS
- Code and enter data into SPSS databases
- Conduct basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Other administrative duties as assigned (e.g., organizing data files, saving work, properly storing data)
Time Commitment
Part-time; 10-15 hours weekly; flexible schedule during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. hour(s)
Student Requirements
All students/staff working with data must take CITI online training (can be done in the lab for hours after student selected for position).
