Environmental Catalysis Study-UG Student Researcher - Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering

The Environmental Catalysis Lab at Catalysis Cluster and CECE department, UCF, has two opening positions for undergraduate students from EXCEL/COMPASS. We are an interdisciplinary research lab, working on the development of catalyst materials for vehicle emission control, indoor air purification, CO2 reduction, and small hydrocarbon activation/conversion. These two positions are to conduct catalyst synthesis, evaluation, and reaction mechanism study using surface science, physical and chemical methods. The target is to maximize the loading of active single sites of precious metal catalysts achieving high pollutant removal efficiency and maintain high hydrothermal stability. Los of hands on experience on material synthesis and instrument operation will be obtained in this study. Students with high interest in chemistry, chemical engineering, surface science, material science, environmental engineering are encouraged to apply.
