Dr. Zhongzhou Chen is seeking a highly motivated undergraduate research assistant in physics, material sciences, or other related STEM major interested in improving STEM education using online learning technologies and conducting online education research.
The position will pay at $11 per hour for a maximum of three years, which is funded through the newly established Center for Ultrafast Dynamics and Catalysis in Emerging Materials (C-UDCEM), a National Science Foundation funded Pathways to Research and Education in Materials (PREM) Center for Under-Represented Minorities.
Responsibilities of the research assistant will include:
• Design, create and implement online learning resources such as videos that brings cutting edge research to introductory level students.
• Help with creating learning materials for advanced undergraduate online courses in Material Science.
• Collecting and analyzing student click-stream data from online learning resources.
Preferences will be given to applicants with experiences or skills in the following area (although none is required)
• Video production
• Web development
• Data analysis, statistics, and machine learning
• STEM education research
