Students will assist with field (boat-based) and laboratory marine research, and maintenance of coastal oyster reef and mangrove restoration efforts. Field efforts on the east coast of Florida require extended availability (6-8 hr trips) either on weekends or week days. Lab based efforts have more flexible timing.
Start Date: 1/10/2022 - End Date: 4/27/2021
Type of Project
Students will assist faculty members and graduate students with a variety of research and coastal restoration efforts. Expect to get muddy, wet, and see lots of amazing biodiversity in the Indian River Lagoon. It is easier if the student has their own transportation but carpooling is possible.
10 hr per week hour(s)
10 hours per week with timing variable based on tides and weather conditions. Students must be Biology or Environmental Studies majors.
