Mobile robot base for assistance - Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering


This project aims to design and control a four-wheeled omni-directional robotic platform for multiple applications, including rehabilitation and assistance. The mobile platform will closely follow the motion of a human operator located in the middle of the frame.

Student Responsibilities

The student will optimize the mechanical  design of a first prototype, design and implement a controller for path following, design and implement sensing system to enable user following.

Student Requirements

The student is expected to have experience in at least one of the following areas: (1) CAD design, (2) servo motor control, (3) Arduino/matlab programming. If you have any previous experience with mobile robots, it would be very helpful.
