undergraduate researcher – autonomous vehicle technologies - Electrical and Computer Engineering


We have a position open in our lab for an undergraduate student researcher who will assist with developing a small scale and full scale autonomous vehicle:

This is part of an NSF project on development of cooperative driving technologies at UCF. The lab information can be found here: http://cavrel.eecs.ucf.edu/

The student will be responsible for software development using ROS and python for camera and lidar data processing, communication between vehicles and control and path planning for vehicles. A graduate student will assist the candidate in learning the required material for this position.

Student Responsibilities

-developing software for perception and path planning of small scale autonomous vehicles, with the assistance of graduate students - (optional) hardware integration for the computing components and mechanical parts of the vehicle (if the student is interested)

10 hours per week. hour(s)

Student Requirements

very good programming skills. familiarity with computer vision and AI is a plus; however , we will provide training in this regard when needed.

Additional Notes

The project has budget for supporting the undergrad researcher for at least 1 year. The pay level will differ depending on the level of commitment and skills of the candidate and can be up to $1000 per month.
